The Makita 18V LXT® Brushless Cordless 1/3 Sheet Finishing Sander offers all the power and control of a corded version but without the cord. It offers a 1/16” orbiting action with faster sanding that is engineered for a swirl-free finish. There are three-speed settings at 4,000, 8,0000, and 12,000 Orbits Per Minute (OPM) that can be selected through a convenient one-touch speed control, while the battery and motor locations are engineered to reduce flutter for a more evenly finished surface. It can be connected to the Makita Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) utilizing Bluetooth for wireless start/stop communication between the sander and an optional dust extractor (sold separately).

AWS® uses Bluetooth® technology for wireless power-on and power-off communication between the equipped tool and dust extractor. AWS® is intelligent communication that eliminates cords and excessive noise since the dust extractor runs only when trigger-activated by an AWS® tool. When the trigger is released, the dust extractor powers-down. The Makita AWS® dust extractor (XCV08Z) is powered by two 18V LXT® batteries for maximum performance, and users benefit with an expanding AWS® system that includes cordless tools for concrete, metal and woodworking.
